She seems to like to like the back of the 650F (why I bought it) but we've yet to ride it so only time wim tell if this truly works for her and I. I wanted sporty and comfortable, as well as less weight on my wrists and am a few years from a cruiser, Gold Wing or even FJR so it's been a process finding something that works. The other factors we were looking at were underseat or under engine exhaust (mufflers attached to the passenger peg make her foot fall asleep) and luggage options are easier with those as well. Understand she is VERY picky and VERY female: it doesn't t have to make sense and I've stopped trying to figure out why she absolutely loves the back of the CBR but doesn't like the flatter, wider VFR style seats but that is what it is so I go with it. I've suggested the top box and she can't stand the looks enough to even try them as well as they make getting in and off for her (and me) more difficult. Upright bikes like the FJ and my previous NC700X put her slightly higher but with me completely upright it doesn't work at all. The main thing for us is I'm 6'3" and she's 5'5" so unless there is a huge difference in height between the ride and passenger seat and I'm leaning forward she looks directly at the back of my head.
The looks of the bike are growing on me, but it isn't the best looking bike around. It will probably look ugly as sin, but as long as I look forward while I ride, I don't care. What about the passenger seating didn't you guys like? Pegs too high? I'm going to bolt a 50 liter Yamaha top case to the rack so the passenger will have a padded backrest. grace the pillion spot for a weekend here or there.
This bike ticks off a lot of my 'must have' boxes, and I am hoping to convince the Mrs.
